IE is Slow Loading

This is a hard one as there are many different possible causes.

If you have not done so since installing IE 5.5, run Defrag on your C: drive.

If you have an unused network card, disable it.

Go to Tools | Internet Options Connection and make sure that the box for "Automatically detect settings" is unchecked for both Dial Up settings and LAN settings. (Uncheck both even if you do not use one.

In the same place uncheck "Perform security check before dialing".
