Autumn Leaves Hat

This hat has a lacy autumn leaf brim. Directions are for child size with adult size in ( )’s.
Materials:
Patons Décor 1 skein Taupe for MC and 1 skein Autumn Variegated for CC.
Set of 4 double pointed needles US #7.
Abbreviations
CC = contrasting color
Dpn = double pointed needles
K = knit
K/w = knit wise
K2tog = k 2 sts together
M1 = increase one st by picking up bar between sts from front to back onto left-hand needle and k through back loop
MC = main color
P = purl
P2tog = p 2 sts together
Rep = repeat
Rnd = round
Sl = slip
St/sts = stitch/stitches
Yo = yarn over
With MC, on size 7 dpn, cast on 4 sts. Slip sts to other end of needle and knit 1 row. Divide on 3 needles and work k1, m1 around. Mark beginning of rnd.
Rnd 1: k all sts.
Rnd 2: k(1), m1, to end, increase number between ( )’s by 1 each rnd.
Rep these 2 rnds until 80 (88) sts, ending rnd 1. Next rnd inc 4 (4) sts by working m1 evenly spaced on rnd. Work even, knit each rnd, on 84 (92) sts until piece measures 2 (3) in. from last inc rnd. Work k2, p2, ribbing for 1 ˝ in.
Change to CC and p 1 rnd. Next rnd p, decreasing 11 (10) sts by working p2tog evenly spaced on rnd. At end of rnd cast on 11 sts on the end of needle number 3. Work in leaf pattern.

Row 2: sl1 k/w, k1, yo, k2tog, p2, k5.
Row 3: k2, yo, k1, yo, k2, yo, k2tog, k3, k2tog-b, turn.
Row 4: sl1 k/w, k1, yo, k2tog, p2, k7.
Row 5: k3, yo, k1, yo, k3, yo, k2tog, k3, k2tog-b, turn.
Row 6: sl1 k/w, k1, yo, k2tog, p2, k9.
Row 7: k4, yo, k1, yo, k4, yo, k2tog, k3, k2tog-b, turn.
Row 8: sl1 k/w, k1, yo, k2tog, p2, k11.
Row 9: k2tog, k3, yo, k1, yo, k3, k2tog, yo, k2tog, k3 k2tog-b, turn.

Row19: bind-off 3sts, k5, yo, k4, k2tog-b, turn.
Rep rows 2-19 until all sts used up. Bind-off 11 sts and sew to 11 sts cast on for leaf pattern. Weave in all ends. Make pom-pom from variegated yarn and sew to top of hat.
