Berries and Cream SweaterThe red stripe has a strawberry design; the blue stripe is close set baubles representing blueberries. Between them, the white sea-foam pattern represents cream. Designed by Mary J. Saunders Materials: Patons Canadiana, 100% worsted weight yarn, 50g/114yd balls. Red - 2 balls, white - 2 balls, blue - 3 balls.
Needles: American size 6 straight needles, dp needles, and 24" circular needle. American size 5 straight needles, dp needles, and 24" circular needle. Crochet hook size F.
Finished size: 26" chest to fit child's size 4.
Sweater is worked from the top down.

Special stitch instructions:
MB: In the next stitch, k1 through the front loop and without removing the stitch from the left-hand needle, * k1 through the back loop, k1 through the front loop, repeat from * once. There will be 5 sts worked in the 1 sts. ** Turn work and p the 5 sts, Turn work and k the 5 sts. Repeat from ** once. Pass the 2nd sts from the end of the needle over the 1st st and off the end of the needle 4 times, leaving one st of the 5. Bauble made.
ML: Insert crochet hook from front of work through center purl st between yo's in 4th row down. Pull a loop of yarn through to the front of the work and place it on the right-hand needle pulling it so that it is neither too loose nor too tight.

Finishing. Sew sleeve seams. Sew sleeves in armhole openings distributing evenly and placing center of "strawberry" at shoulder seam. Weave in all loose ends.
