I
was born in Chicago and raised in the western suburbs of Chicago. Daddy
worked for the CB&Q railroad and Mother was a school teacher. My sister and
I attended Catholic schools.
As a
child I enjoyed being a Girl Scout. I was in the Lone Tree Council
and have fond
memories of Camp Lone Tree and Camp Wild Rose. The picture shows me holding the
horseshoe for neatest cabin that my cabin mates and I earned my first summer at
camp. I still remember the camp songs we sang while sitting around the
campfire.

I
attended Nazareth Academy in LaGrange, IL. It was an all girls
school then. The summer after high school I was working at a Girl Scout Camp in
Wisconsin and there I met the love of my life, Frank, who was working at the Boy
Scout Camp. What a cowboy! When I met him, he was wearing his denims, his boots,
and his cowboy hat. He smelled of campfire and still had his guitar with him.
Two years later we were married.
We’ve
had our ups and downs over the years. We’ve had our sorrows and joys. We
raised six children into beautiful adults and now enjoy the blessings of our
seven grandchildren.
We left
Chicago behind, when all the kids were grown, and moved to Missouri where we
have several acres of land in the country with lots of birds to feed, and
flowers and vegetables to grow. I like to knit and conjure up some of my own
designs. I knit items for myself, my family, and my friends. I also
do charity knitting that I donate to Marillac House in Chicago,
IL.
I have
other hobbies. I like to play golf although I’m not a very good golfer. I play
at the Windmill Golf Course at Clark, MO (the birthplace of Gen Omar Bradley).
It’s a nine-hole course with a ladies par of 37. I usually score in the 60’s,
when I’m not scoring in the 70’s. I enjoy light reading, especially
mysteries. I like the favorite sleuth stories written by American women.
I still
enjoy camping and like to tour caves. It’s a good thing I’m in Missouri
where there are lots of show caves and a great Missouri State Parks system where
the unique geological features of the state are visited.

I have two cats and a dog. Ginger
originally belonged to one of my
daughters but came to live with me when she could no longer keep them.
The other two came to live with me on their own. Elvis is a beagle hound who adopted me as his person in the
summer of 1998. He "ain’t nothin’ but a hound dog" and he's the
best dog I've ever had. His ears flap when he jogs along and when he
sneezes, his whole head shakes and his chin hits the ground. Old Blue Eyes
is a Siamese who I found in the tree in my front yard in the late summer of
2001. Not only does he have blue eyes but also a legendary voice and he
acts like the chairman of the board.
Well,
that’s just about all about me. I hope you enjoy my WebPages.
