Beaded Doll Bag

Materials:  31 - 5mm pearl beads, small amount of fingering weight yarn, 1 yd. 1/8” wide satin ribbon, crochet hook size D/3.

To attach beads:

Thread all 31 beads onto yarn. Beads are added in dc st.  Thread over and draw loop through st.  Move one bead up close to work, thread yarn over hook on far side of bead, catching bead in work, draw loop through 2 loops on hook.  Tread yarn over hook again and draw yarn through remaining 2 loops on hook.

Ch2, 6sc in 2nd ch from hook, join with sl st.  Ch1, sc in same st, 2sc in next 5 sts, 1sc in next st.  Join with sl st to ch1 (12 sts).  Ch1, * 2sc in next st, 1sc in next st, repeat from * five times.  Join with sl st to ch1 (18 sts).  Ch1, * 1sc in next st, 2sc in next st, repeat from * 7 times.  Join with sl st to ch1 (26 sts).

Next five rounds: ch2, 1dc in next 25 sts, join with sl st to ch2.

Add beads in this order:

            Rnd 1: in 4th dc and each 5th dc around.

            Rnd 2: in 1st dc and each 5th dc around.

            Rnd 3: in 3rd dc and each 5th dc around.

            Rnd 4: repeat rnd 1.

            Rnd 5: repeat rnd 2.

Next rnd: ch1, 1hdc in each st.

Final rnd: * skip 1 st, sc in next st, skip next st, 3dc in next st adding bead on 2nd dc, repeat from * to last 2 sts, skip one st, sc in last st and join with sl st to 1st st. end off.  Cut the ribbon into 2 pieces and thread both pieces through hdc rnd so that free ends are opposite each other.  Cut ribbon to desired length, knot ends of ribbon, and pull in opposite directions to close bag.
