Doll Summer DressDesigned

This is a summer dress
or nightgown that fits 18" dolls such as the Magic Attic dolls as seen in the
picture. Materials:
J&P Coats Luster
Sheen yarn, 1 - 50 gm ball
One set of 4 dp needles size 3
Crochet hook, size D
18" - 1/8" ribbon Cast on 72 sts.
Divide on 3 needles, being careful not to twist work. Rnd 1: K to
end. Rnd 2: K to
end. Rnd 3: *K1,
yo, k2tog, repeat from * to end. Rnd 4: *P1,
yo, p2tog, repeat from * to end. Continue
working these 4 rnds for pattern until piece measures 5 1/2" from
beginning, ending pattern rnd 1. Next rnd,
decrease rnd: *K1, k2tog, repeat from * to end (48 sts).
Redistribute sts on needles: 15 - 18 - 15.
Continue working in pattern, starting with pattern rnd 3 until piece
measures 1" above decrease rnd, ending pattern rnd 1. Work
pattern rnd 2 across 24 sts for front of gown.
Loosely, bind off next 24 sts for back.
At this point you will work back and forth as if with single pointed
needles. Next row,
pattern row 5, same as pattern rnd 3: work across front 24 sts, turn work. Next row,
pattern row 6: *K2tog, yo, k1, repeat from * to end, turn work. Next row: K
each st, binding off 3 sts at beginning of row, turn work. Next row: P
each st, binding off 3 sts at beginning of row, turn work. Repeat
pattern rows 5 and 6 once. Bind off
loosely. With
crochet hook attach yarn to right front top corner.
Ch 50 and end off. Repeat at
left front corner. Tie these ends
around back of doll's neck. Weave
all yarn ends on inside of work. Weave
