The Slide Show feature from OE4 was not included in OE5's options. You can, however, add it with a Registry hack:
Backup the registry first. If you are not familiar with the Registry see http://www.insideoe.com/tips/regedit.htm
Add a DWORD
value called "Automatically Inline Images" to the following Registry key:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Identities\{big long number}\Software\Microsoft\Outlook Express\5.0\
Add the data you want:
0 (disabled preview of the message attachment altogether)
1 (slide-show disable)
2 (slide-show enabled)
To enable the Outlook Express Picture Slide
Show feature, create an additional DWORD value named "Automatic Slide Show
Delay" with a value of "2" in the preceding registry key. Note
that you must restart Outlook Express for this change to take effect.
OE 6 does not support the slide show.
Go to Start | Run and type:
regedit
Navigate to this key (in the left pane):
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Identities\{big long number}\Software\Microsoft\Outlook Express\5.0\
and delete these two values in the right pane:
"Automatically Inline Images" and
"Automatic Slide Show Delay"
You can, however, keep "Automatically Inline Images" if you set it to 0 or 1 as above. This could be useful if you want to totally suppress the display of images. WARNING: Setting it to zero disables Read all messages in plain text.
